Ministry of Compassion (Luke 10:29-37)
Take time to minister to people with compassion!
- See the priority
Compassionate ministry takes sacrifice:
- Time
- Energy
- Money
- Plans
- Safety
Loving God and your neighbor are greater priorities!
Beware of self-justification!
Beware of structural worship!
- See the person
See people the way God sees them!
- Not by labels or categories
- A compassionate God (Exodus 34:6) feels compassion toward people (Matthew 9:36)
The better question: To whom can I be a neighbor?
- See the pain
Sinful people are hurting people, in need of hope and help!
- Wounded by their sins
- Often turning to sin for healing
Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. (Romans 12:15) Feel pain with them.
