Sinus Rhythm (Colossians 3:5-17)
Live your new life in Christ!
- Kill old desires 5-9
We cannot accomplish change simply by stopping our behavior.
When desires overtake us, they become idolatry:
- I sin to get what I want
- I sin when I don’t get what I want
- Wear new character 10-14
Character is desired, rooted, decided, cultivated, practiced, and upheld.
Deeper roots yield greater fruit! (1:10) Jesus must be preeminent! (1:18)
New selves yield new community, together learning and growing in Christ!
- Treasure Christ’s authority 15-17
The peace of Christ governs our relationships with one another!
The word of Christ comes alive in us through teaching and singing!
The honor of Christ motivates and transforms all we do!
All this must be saturated in delight and gratitude, enjoying Jesus!
