We desperately need new life in Jesus.

1. Without Jesus, we are inadequate

If God asked you why He should let you into heaven, how would you answer?

We don’t earn heaven’s admission, but we receive new life by faith in Jesus!

• Forgiveness by cleansing from impurity (Ezekiel 36:25)
• Transformation by the power of the Spirit (Ezekiel 36:26-27)

2. Without Jesus, we are astray

We need the truth and authority of God’s Word:

• Growing in trust
• Growing in understanding
• Through the lens of Jesus as God and Messiah (John 3:13, 20:31)

3. Without Jesus, we are condemned

Our default condition is “condemned already” (John 3:18).

Sin and unbelief is overwhelmingly devastating!

Our Savior Jesus was lifted up (Isaiah 52:13) to become our curse (Galatians 3:13).

God’s great purpose and desire is our salvation (John 3:16-17, 1 Timothy 2:3-4).

4. Without Jesus, we are hiding

Shame can drive us to hide by:

• Disguising in good
• Withdrawing from truth

The Light of the world confronts our darkness!

Our secrets are a prison, but there is freedom in the truth!
