- What impressions, applications, or questions do you have from this sermon or passage?
- What blessings of the gospel in this passage do you often overlook? How can we focus ourselves more on these gospel blessings?
- How do we know what God’s will is for us (1:9)? Why is it important to know His will?
- How often do you pray for power (1:11)? What is the purpose of this power? When is this needed?
- How much of our prayer is focused on spiritual growth, both for ourselves and for others?
- PRAY TOGETHER, thanking God for the different blessings of the gospel and its power and influence in our daily lives.

- Why are we urged to continue (1:23)? Why is this hard? How can we endure without shifting?
- PRAY TOGETHER, asking God to help us surrender first place to Jesus and lay aside everything else that fights for first place in our lives.

- What can you actively, steadfastly pray for in order to honor Jesus in your marriage? Your parenting? Your work? Your witness?
- Since the tongue is so hard to tame, how can we guard our words in order to always speak graciously (4:2)?
- Cancel culture is prevalent in society’s approach to relationships. How do you view cancel culture in light of the Word of God?
- How would your relationships be incredibly different if you committed yourself to serve Jesus in those relationships (3:24), pray with thanksgiving for those relationships (4:2), and speak graciously to those people (4:6)?
- PRAY TOGETHER for God’s wisdom to help us redeem the time in our God-given relationships, including our witness to outsiders.

- Do you see your church family as beloved? Do you toil in prayer for one another?
- Is prayer passive? How can we invest ourselves to labor in prayer (4:12)? How can we recognize both its hard work and its power?
- In what ways can we equip ourselves with the Word of God to be ready to nourish redemptive relationships?
- What are some of the values to team ministry, when we could simply do things ourselves?
- PRAY TOGETHER, giving thanks for all who serve behind the scenes, and asking God to give us humble hearts willing to serve and be forgotten.
