Robert Luff, pastor
Nice to meet you! I don't have everything figured out, but I have come to find deep joy and delight in the person of Jesus Christ.
I'd love to tell you about Him!
I consider it a great privilege to be the pastor of Grace Baptist Church. I came here in October 2023 with my wife, Jamie, and we are delighted to get to raise our two boys among the kind people of this church. I have been pastoring since 2016, when I received my Master of Divinity from Bob Jones Seminary in Greenville, SC. Prior to that I worked in journalism and communications.
Although I trusted Jesus Christ to save me at an early age, it wasn’t until my first days of college in 2003 that I came to really rejoice in the relationship that Jesus had purchased for me at Calvary. Walking with God quickly became a delight and the highest priority of my life. During that time, the Lord provided me with wonderful men to disciple me so that I grew in my understanding of all that God has done and is doing in me. Along a road that has included both joys and sorrows, the Lord is teaching me to rejoice in all circumstances because He is the root of all my joy.
I try to bring out that joy in my preaching. Like me, Grace Baptist Church has a deep love for the Word of God. I preach expository messages verse-by-verse through full books of the Bible. Rather than coming to the pulpit with an agenda of my own, I do my best to let the Bible speak for itself. I have a similar approach to biblical counseling, and so God guides us by means of His Word.
When I’m not ministering or chasing my young boys around, I enjoy reading, playing board games, hiking, and cheering for the Washington Capitals.
