Choose life and blessing by choosing obedience!

1. Life in relationship with God is a blessing 15-16 (Deut 28:1-14)

Bless – affirm by giving success and happiness
Pattern your life after the way of blessing!
Love God, walk in His ways, keep His commands.
CAVEAT: blessing cannot be earned!  The law reveals our sinfulness. (Romans 3:20)

2. Life in rebellion to God is a curse 17-18 (Deut 28:15-68)

Curse – condemned to divine vengeance. Be very afraid! (Hebrews 10:31)

• Cut off from God’s presence (Psalm 37:22)
• Covered with shame (Jeremiah 42:18)
• Cast into fire and darkness (Matthew 25:41)

Choosing sin is choosing a curse – judgment, condemnation, misery, pain, conflict, death.

3. Life in reliance on Jesus is hopeful 11-14

Our failure is certain.
But God sent help! (Romans 10:6-13)
Trusting Jesus as Savior is our only hope for moving from curse to blessing! (John 3:36)
In Christ, we are blessed with EVERY spiritual blessing! (Ephesians 1:3)
