Identify yourself in relationship to Jesus!

1. Jesus is the coming Lord

John the Baptist had a special herald’s role.

We should be ready and urge readiness for the Lord’s coming!

• With urgency – “at hand” (Matthew 3:2)
• With change – “repent” (Matthew 3:2)
• With anticipation – the way is ready!

2. Jesus is the worthy Christ

We are unworthy of Jesus, yet called into relationship with Jesus.  Walk worthily! (Colossians 1:10)

• Give unto Jesus great honor!
• Conduct yourself with genuine humility!
• Consider ministry a blessed privilege!

3. Jesus is the atoning Lamb

Jesus offered His life as the once-for-all sacrifice for sins. (Hebrews 7:27)

Like the Passover Lamb, Jesus’ blood “covers” us so that God’s judgment passes over us. (Exodus 12:5, 1 Peter 1:19, 1 Corinthians 5:7)

Jesus is still honored as the worthy Lamb! (Revelation 5:12)

4. Jesus is the nearby Son

We are exhorted to believe that Jesus is the Son of God! (John 20:31)

• He reveals the Father (John 1:18)
• The Holy Spirit has confirmed Him (John 1:32)
• We can see His glory (John 1:14)
• He has arrived (John 1:29)
