Find joy in magnifying Jesus with your life!

1. Joy in faithful service

What makes life and ministry worth the hard work?

• Contentment leads to joy, but covetousness leads to emptiness!
• Count it a privilege entrusted to you!
• Know that God gives the increase (1 Corinthians 3:6)!
• Trust that nothing can separate us from God’s love (Romans 8:35-39)

2. Joy in persistent witness

Witness – to prove/confirm by testifying to that which we have seen and heard (1 John 1:1-3).

Joy is fulfilled in seeing people following Jesus, rather than liking us (2 Corinthians 4:5).

Those who have been with Jesus must testify! (1 John 5:10-11, Acts 4:13)

3. Joy in genuine humility

Guard yourself from prideful motivations!

More of JESUS, less of ME (John 3:30):

• Understanding my unworthiness before Him (John 1:27, Psalm 8:4)
• My focus turned to God, rather than self (Romans 12:3, Galatians 2:20, Matthew 16:24)
• For God’s glory (Psalm 115:1) and approval (Acts 5:29)

4. Joy in trusting obedience

We choose: life with joy or emptiness with wrath.

• Jesus embodies and communicates God’s truth, love, and life for us (John 3:11, 5:36, 8:13-14)
• Jesus desires our rescue from God’s wrath (1 Timothy 2:4, 2 Peter 3:9, Luke 19:10)
• We must obey Jesus’ words by actively trusting Him.
