Be humbled by God’s merciful judgment!

1. God judges with affliction

Working and childbearing are part of God’s design, not God’s judgment.
Our purpose and joy are overshadowed by trouble and sorrow.
Pain and struggle are humbling reminders of sin’s impact!

2. God judges with conflict

Marriage, the most intimate relationship, is sown with division because of sin.
Conflict invades all human relationships!
We face an ongoing spiritual war with our enemy, Satan!

3. God judges with death

Our days are numbered now! (Job 14:1-2, 5)
Though pride aims to be “like God,” we will ultimately become like dust.
Death is our humbling return to the ground we came from!

PROMISE
Jesus is our just Judge and merciful Priest! (Hebrews 4:16)
God gives the victory through His Son, Jesus! (1 Corinthians 15:57)
Satan will be defeated by Jesus (Colossians 2:15) and His church (Romans 16:20)!
